On January 21, 2024, we will celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS).
SOHLS is a day for Americans to focus on the value of each and every human life. It is celebrated every year on the Sunday closest to the memorial of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decisions Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which legalized abortion in every state for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy.
The decisions were recently overturned in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization on June 24, 2022.
President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation creating the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day in January 1984, and it included these words:
“We have been given the precious gift of human life, made more precious still by our births in or pilgrimages to a land of freedom. It is fitting, then, on the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that struck down State anti-abortion laws, that we reflect anew on these blessings, and on our corresponding responsibility to guard with care the lives and freedoms of even the weakest of our fellow human beings.”
We invite you on Sunday, January 21, to remember the loss of more than 62 million unborn children since 1973 and help ight to Life of Sanilac County celebrate the precious gift of life for all.
Please join us on January 21, 2024
as we gather at Holy Family Parish inside
the St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall at
59 N. Moore Street in Sandusky.
Come inside the hall and pick up a sign
then join us for our
Mini March for Life
to the Courthouse at 2pm.
We will say a short prayer once we arrive at the Courthouse step, then we head back to the Church for the indoor
Memorial Service at 2:30 pm.
Our guest speaker for the service will be our State Representative Greg Alexander.
Light refreshments and snacks will be served. We invite you to join us as we honor these lives lost to abortion. All are welcome to attend this non-denominational service.
You can attend one or both events.
Join your fellow pro-life friends on Thursday, March 21, 2024 for our annual Focus on Life Benefit Dinner.
We will gather at Countryside Free Methodist Church again this year. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the Dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Our guest speaker will be Pastor Christopher Thoma. Pastor Thoma is a Lutheran pastor, author, public speaker, and cultural critic. He drinks whiskey, is allergic to sharks, has a 4th-degree black belt in Monopoly, is relatively unmoved by scary movies, and drives a Jeep Wrangler he pretends is the Millennium Falcon. (His self-described bio).
Please read over the dinner flyer for his more professional biography!
You can call Amy at 810-404-0860 for more information and to reserve seats.
